RAWALPINDI – July 10, 2025:
The 271st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), strongly reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to confront and eliminate Indian-backed and sponsored terrorist proxies, declaring such actions imperative in the wake of India’s “manifest defeat” during the recent military conflict triggered by the Pahalgam incident.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) noted that the high-level meeting, attended by senior military leadership, opened with prayers for the martyrs of recent terrorist attacks attributed to “Indian-sponsored proxies.”
“Following its manifest defeat in direct aggression against Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident, India is now doubling down to further its nefarious agenda through its proxies of Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan,” the forum stated.
The government has previously designated the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna-al-Khawarij, and all terrorist organisations operating in Balochistan as Fitna-al-Hindustan, accusing India of backing both as part of a broader strategy to destabilize Pakistan.
Internal and Regional Security Reviewed
The forum conducted a comprehensive review of Pakistan’s internal and external security dynamics, with particular focus on:
- Recent developments in the Middle East and Iran.
- The increasing global trend toward the use of force as a policy tool.
- The evolving threat spectrum and the changing character of modern warfare.
The military leadership underscored the need for persistent development of self-reliant capabilities, national unity, and rapid adaptation across services to counter both conventional and non-conventional threats.
“Blood of our Shuhada will not go waste, and the safety and security of the people of Pakistan remains the topmost priority for the Armed Forces,” the ISPR quoted.
Response to India and Accusations of Bloc Politics
Responding to recent remarks by Indian military leadership — including claims that China provided Pakistan with live intelligence during the conflict — Field Marshal Munir dismissed the allegations as baseless:
“Invoking third parties in what is unmistakably a bilateral military confrontation reflects a disingenuous attempt at bloc politics aimed at falsely projecting India’s self-assigned role as a net security provider, to accrue benefits in a region visibly growing disillusioned with Indian hegemonic ambitions and Hindutva-driven extremism.”
The forum warned that India’s attempts to internationalize the conflict and shift blame would not deter Pakistan from taking decisive, holistic action at all levels to safeguard its sovereignty.
Diplomatic Engagement and Strategic Synergy
Field Marshal Munir briefed the forum on recent diplomatic efforts, including visits alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to:
- Iran, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
He also highlighted the COAS’s landmark visit to the United States, where engagements with top-tier American leadership allowed Pakistan to present its perspective on bilateral, regional, and extra-regional developments.
Operational Readiness and Tri-Service Coordination
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Munir:
- Expressed full confidence in the operational readiness of the Pakistan Army to respond to the complete threat spectrum.
- Commended the Pakistan Navy and Air Force for enhancing tri-service synergy, which he called essential in the current strategic environment.
The Corps Commanders’ Conference concluded with a unified commitment to defending Pakistan’s security, defeating terrorism in all forms, and confronting external aggression with strength, resolve, and clarity of purpose.
