;Bürgenstock, Switzerland — June 21: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, took part in a series of diplomatic meetings in Switzerland as international discussions continued on implementing the recently signed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

During the visit, the Pakistani delegation met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance for bilateral consultations. Reports indicated that senior American officials were also present as both sides discussed ongoing regional developments and cooperation linked to the peace process.

Pakistan’s leadership also held talks with an Iranian delegation headed by Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Senior representatives from both countries exchanged views on regional stability and the next steps in advancing diplomatic engagement under the existing framework.

The meetings were held on the sidelines of technical-level negotiations in Bürgenstock, where delegations from several countries, including the United States, Iran, Qatar and Switzerland, gathered to discuss follow-up measures related to the Islamabad agreement.

According to official statements from Islamabad, Pakistan’s participation reflects its continued support for dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. The government has described the Swiss meetings as an important opportunity to strengthen communication among the participating parties and encourage long-term regional stability.

The Bürgenstock discussions mark the first formal engagement following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding earlier this week, with officials expected to continue consultations aimed at building confidence and implementing agreed commitments.
