KARACHI – The decomposed body of television actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali, 32, was discovered on Tuesday in her apartment in Ittehad Commercial, Phase VI, in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), according to police.
Authorities believe the actor had been dead for nearly two weeks, with her body found in an advanced stage of decomposition. The discovery was made after the Gizri police arrived at the apartment to enforce a court-ordered eviction, initiated by the property’s landlord due to non-payment of rent since 2024.
Discovery and Initial Findings
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers knocked on the door but received no response. Upon forcibly entering the premises, they discovered Ali’s body in one of the rooms. The apartment’s iron gate and wooden door were locked from the inside, as was the balcony door — suggesting no forced entry or immediate evidence of foul play.
The Crime Scene Unit was called in to collect forensic evidence, and the body was moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem and legal proceedings.
Post-Mortem and Cause of Death
Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, limiting initial assessments. A post-mortem was conducted the same evening, though the cause of death remains “reserved”, pending the final forensic report.
South Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahzoor Ali stated that, at this stage, murder is not suspected, citing the apartment’s securely locked doors and the absence of physical trauma or disturbance. Still, no conclusions have been drawn, and authorities await the full post-mortem report.

Humaira Asghar Ali had reportedly been living alone since 2018. Neighbours and sources in the entertainment industry identified her as an actor and model with appearances in reality TV, small drama roles, and fitness segments on morning shows. Despite her public presence, no family members or next of kin have been reached so far. Police are attempting to trace relatives using her mobile phone data.
